Relaxer Day!!- My way!

Today was my relaxer day. I based my scalp with JBCO to prevent burns and overprocessing and self-relaxed with my usual Mizani Butter Blends Relaxer for Sensitive Scalp. I used a sprush (pictured above) to apply the relaxer to my new growth and then dusted my ends with relaxer 2 minutes before neutralizing with Mizani Butter Blends Sensitive Scalp Balance Hair Bath.

I always do a protein treatment on relaxer days to put back the protein taken away by relaxing. Today I used the Organics Hair Mayonaise mixed with extra virgin olive oil. I applied it generously all over the hair and covered it with a foil cap for 3 hours before rinsing it out.

I applied my Elasta QP H-two leave and conditioner and Extra strength hair placenta to damp hair which I left for 5 minutes to penetrate. I then blow dried my hair and applied castor oil hair treatment to my scalp and Elasta QP hair lotion and coconut oil to my hair to moisturize and seal.

I'm wearing a bun as a protective style.

Do you self relax?

Translucent Powder for WOC- Black Opal Invisible Oil blocking powder

I have been on the hunt for a translucent powder that is not white for a while. I have tried the ELF HD powder which is good but if you use the slightest bit too much will leave you with a ghostly white cast.
Black Opal is a cosmetic brand made with women of color in mind. This translucent powder is a dark beige color and does not leave a white cast on the skin. It also doubles as a good oil control powder and does not build up on the skin.
I highly recommend this product for all WOC looking for a good setting powder and any MUAs that have culturally diverse clientele.
It's a bargain at £6.99 for 28g of product!

Eyebrows on a Budget!!!- MUA Brow Pencil in Brunette

I've been meaning to post a review on this product for a while. I ran out of my holy grail brow pencil (Mac eyebrow crayon in Stud) and with no Mac counter nearby, was stuck on what to do. I saw the MUA eyebrow pencil being used in a few youtube tutorials by girls with a similar hair color and skin tone as me decided to give it a try. At £1 a pop I thought why not.
At the price my expectations were not high because I'm a firm believer that you should get what you pay for. I was pleasantly surprised. I love this pencil and have not touched the Mac one a bought yet as I have no problem with this one.
It has good color and good staying power. It also contains castor oil which promote the growth of your brows and has a great brush.

Beauty Wishlist!!

1) Real Techniques Setting Brush: I have a few real techniques brushes and love them all. I have been looking to get this brush for a while for setting under eye concealer, highlighter application and contouring.

2) MAC Spiked Brow Crayon: I have been a big fan of the MAC Brow crayon in Stud for years and want to try a lighter color for a less dramatic brow. I will be purchasing this as a back up for when my Stud one runs out.
3) Nars Powder Blush in Dolce Vita: I have heard great things about this blush as a good pink blush for women of color. I have been holding out on purchasing it because I want to see it in person before purchasing it and there isn't a nars counter nearby. I will purchase it if there isn't a blush similar in my collection.
4) Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel: I have always wanted to try this peel and will be purchasing it the first chance I get. I'm all for home treatments and self pampering so I think this is a product I will get good use out of. Will definitely be reviewing this product once I purchase it.

5) Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation: I don't own a single item from Illamasqua and wanted to use this product to break the cycle. I have read rave reviews about this product and would love to try it.

Buy of the week!

Been MIA for a while due to writer's block and a general lack of inspiration. As with most things a trip to town to see what the sales were like was the cure. I got these beauties in the TopShop sale for £12 reduced from £26. I had been eyeing them for a while and was thrilled to see they had been reduced.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush Review

I never in all my days thought I could love another brush more than I love my Sigma F80 Flat top Kabuki Brush, but I do. This brush is everything I would have tweaked about the F80. I always wished the F80 was a bit smaller and not as dense. If I was to design a foundation brush based on my personal preferences this would be it.
It effortlessly blends to give an absolutely flawless finish. I works brilliantly for contour, blush and powder application making it an all round face brush. It has soft taklon bristles making it great for cream products.
I'm so happy I bought this and would soon be buying another. At £9.99, why not??

Do you have this brush? What is your favorite foundation brush?

Products I Regret Buying

Pretty colors, some have bad color pay off. Overall fuss to use. Gave all of mine away.

You may like these if you like frosty lips. I hate them. Awful.
Worst powder I have ever used. So red and blotchy....yes a blotchy powder. Ghastly.

Horrible, was matched badly. Very red, very dark. Not a fan of the Inglot face products so far. May be ok if it matched. Will keep it to use on other people.

The Body Shop Strawberry Beautifying Oil Review

I've been looking for a good body oil for a while and spotted this one on the Body Shop website which was newly released. I love that they have 11 scents to choose from and decided to go with strawberry. The scent is not at all over powering and does not compete with any additional fragrances you may want to use.
It is very moisturizing but at the same time feels very light on the skin and is quickly absorbed into the skin.
I love this product and will definitely be repurchasing it once I've run out.

Price: £9.99 (On offer right now for £6.75)
